We’re looking for your families’ 1916 stories

We're looking for your families' 1916 stories
James Caffrey in his house in Phibsborogh, Dublin

The Irish World is seeking stories that your extended family have about the 1916 period

The stories don’t need to be about The Rising per se, we’re interested in hearing all the adventures, big and small, that our readers have to tell about the time.

Perhaps you have photos, letters or memorabilia from 1916 that have interesting stories behind them? Perhaps your mammy tells a great tale about her uncle Ned?

Love stories, tall tales, soldiers’ logs, clergymen’s poems or nana’s knitting club.

We are particularly interested in speaking to individuals who were born in 1916.
