Christy Kissane, who would have been 70 this month, was laid to rest in his native Beaufort, the village he left 52 years ago for London.

Thousands of people turned out for the removal before he was laid to rest in Churchtown Cemetery in Beaufort following Requiem Mass at St James¹ Church, Killorglin.
The 69-year-old father-of-four died from a suspected heart attack on October 21, at his home in Dollis Hill, northwest London.
He was President of the Kerry Association London (KAL) and patron of Kingdom Kerry Gaels.
His The Kingdom pub in Kilburn was a “home from home” for many Kerry exiles in London.
Mr. Kissane, a father of four who had been at the London Kerry Association¹s annual dinner in Cricklewood the Friday before his sudden death had also welcomed the birth of his first grandson in August, and attended the christening in Co. Kerry last month.
