Weddings Special: While many couples here opt to return to Ireland for their nuptials, there is the option of staying in London to get the Irish wedding service right here in the capital.
Located closely to the heart of central London, the Clayton Crown Hotel offers a vivacious and vibrant venue to host your big day. The hotel boasts historical beauty within the grade two listed Victorian building, originally built in 1899. The hotel we see today offers a modern twist as the reception ceiling captivatingly consists of a glass atrium which connects the original terracotta building to the new.
“Our hotel is the perfect place to host an elegant and efficacious wedding reception. The classic characteristics combined with the contemporary feel boasts a unique venue; which we aim to create many unforgettable wedding celebrations within,” says Harry Stallwood, marketing director.
There are two function rooms within the venue in which to host your ceremony and/or wedding reception. The smaller of the two, The Sala Suite, seats up to 100 attendees and embraces all original period features. It has an adjoining mezzanine which is a beautiful and sophisticated area overlooking the reception lobby perfect for arrival drinks.
The Bentley Suite hosts weddings for up to 300 guests, it is modern space with a built in dance floor and showcases a chandler covered ceiling. The space is a blank canvas ideal for you to create a personalised wedding to adapt exactly what you envision.
“The Crown is the pillar of the Irish community, a well-established landmark within North West London and much loved by many. Here at Clayton Crown Hotel we guarantee ‘Your wedding, your way’,” they add.
The hotel offers versatile and imaginative menus to create a wedding banquet that is personalized to every taste and budget, and couples will have a dedicated wedding co-ordinator to help them every step of the way. Part of the wedding packages offer a complimentary night’s stay for the bride and groom on the wedding night, and the venue is approved for civil marriages and partnerships also.
If you want the landscape and atmosphere of an Irish country wedding, with the service and convenience of a hotel, then this Harrow venue might be for you. The Grim’s Dyke is a beautiful and unique 19th Century Country House surrounded by an oasis of tranquil landscaped gardens and romantic scenery.
“They say a picture is worth a thousand words and as you view the beautiful grounds and breathtaking architecture you can start to dream how special your day can be,” says Daniela Hunt-Cortez.
“Whilst you do, we would like to invite you to consider this; as you make your way down the tree lined drive, the picturesque country house comes into view, which is almost as beautiful as the stunning rose gardens and secluded stone bridge – all serving to create the perfect fairytale background for your wedding photos.”
At present they are offering couples a dinner and night’s B&B to check out the grounds, and if you book your wedding there you will be refunded the cost of your sample night. Again, there is a dedicated wedding co-ordinator on hand to help you with your planning and packages start at £79 per person.
