Police in Wembley are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward after two men disguised as police officers tricked their way into a home and stole £800 on Saturday night.

Police were called to a residential address in Charterhouse Avenue, HAO at 9:23pm on September 13 following reports of a burglary.

Officers attended and spoke with two occupants who explained how two men dressed as police officers tricked their way into their home before handcuffing one of them and searching the property on the pretext that they had been told that drug dealing was taking place at the address.

The two men left soon after leaving one of the victims in handcuffs, claiming they would return shortly. The two occupants would later find an untidy search had taken place upstairs and that a quantity of cash had been stolen.

Both suspects are described as black men aged between 20-25 years, approximately 6ft tall, and clean shaven. Both suspects wore a policeman beat helmet, white shirt, dark coloured jacket, black trousers, black gloves and a high visibility jacket with the words ‘Police’ emblazoned across it.

Officers are urging anyone who has information regarding the two men to contact police on 0208-733-3709 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
