Plenty to talk about as the TLICN debates Brexit at February event
The London Irish Construction Network‘s (TLICN) recently held a Brexit event at the House of Commons in Westminster attended by over 300 people from all walks of business and politics.
MPs on both sides of the argument, introduced by TLICN chair Frank O’Hare and Ealing Labour MP Steve Pound, were unanimous in their view that a mature and fair debate on the subject is needed.
Other MPs present included SDLP MP Alasdair McDonnell, Labour’s Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary Vernon Coaker, and Conservative MP for Arundel and South Downs Nick Herbert.
Unsurprisingly, given that many of the guests own or run businesses, the consensus was Brexit would usher in a period of uncertainty whereas having a single market encouraged investment from global companies leading to job and wealth creation.
Mr O’Hare thanked sponsors Evans Mockler, Galliard Homes and Ardent Tide for sponsoring the event and the Embassy of Ireland and TLICN members for their support.
