The preparations are well under way in both counties. The flags, the bunting and the best of luck signs to their local heroes are well located throughout every club, village and suburb where there is a representation on each panel.
The buzz is rising, the demand for tickets is fever pitch and it is now the talk of every employment. People looking to get the Monday off, employees swapping shifts and the trading of tickets between Mayo and Cork and Clare started last Sunday about 5pm.
The good thing about the hurling being first is that you get your tickets, but I am not sure the same happens when it comes to football weekend. Promises Promises! People will drive from Cork to Donegal to pick up tickets if they become available. Where else would you see this?
