A late equaliser by Tir Chonaill Gaels Tommy Moriarty saved the day and ensured both teams will meet again to decide who will play in the county junior final.
Thomas MacCurtain’s went into an early lead but TCG went on to control to the game after Kevin Browne opened their scoring with a converted free.
MacCurtain’s stayed in contention and a late first half goal by Barry McHugh meant they went in to the break with a two point advantage.
Part two was a heavy handed affair – fought in brutal weather conditions – Kevin Browe scored twice to level the game.
Kevin Browne opened the scoring at the other end with a long-range free. Tir Chonaill proceeded to control the game for lengthy spells with Ryan.
Thomas McCurtains battled for a place in the final during the closing ten minutes of the game, with a point from Paddy O’Neill. However point-scorer McHugh was black carded for a foul on Gerard Geraghty.
With minutes left on the clock Patrick Halligan put McCuratains in fron only for the late Moriarty strike to level the game and ensure both sides must meet again.
The replay will take place on Saturday at 3.30 at Ruislip.
