Survey: Votes for the Irish Abroad

Survey: Votes for the Irish Abroad

Worldwide survey of Irish citizens abroad on issue central to the  pending General Election

Gerry Molumby co-founder of Cricklewood Homeless Concern day centre in London, has launched this new campaign to gather research into emigrant’s attitudes.

He says: “This survey is to ask if you agree that all political parties in Ireland should include in their general election manifesto and pending programme for government their clear position on offering votes to the Irish Abroad – to Oireachtas (Dail, Seanad and voting for the President).”

He has written to the party leaders himself, asking “in this season of a pending election campaign! Can I request that you set our clearly your party’s position and direction on votes for the Irish Abroad?” and inviting them to the UK to debate in a ‘question time format’ on the issues of concern to the Irish Abroad in the pending general election.
