Slow start for Emmetts

Robert Emmetts 2-13
Father Murphys 1-12

by Fiona O’Brien

Robert Emmetts made hard work of picking up their second win of this year’s championship after a lethargic start against Fr Murphys in Ruislip on Sunday.

Father Murphys looked as if they were to dominatethe tie after an opening ten-minute scoring spree that obliterated Martin Fitzpatrick’s opening point.

Conor Howlin opened the scoring for his side, before Stephen Bardon and Dan Doheny made their contributions within the next two minutes.

Maurice Lynch joined the scorers straight afterwards, before Mick Gordon’s double gave his side a five point lead within ten minutes.
