Leitrim native Marie-Therese McCartin has released a charity Christmas single in aid of the Irish Charity Bee For Battens (The Saoirse Foundation).

AGR Television Records release Silent Night worldwide for digital download on December 16, 2013.

Silent Night was produced by Mark Cahill of MPC Productions in Meath, the accompanying video was produced and directed by Martin Connolly of Moving Image.

Following the release of the single Another April Day earlier this year, also in aid of Bee For Batten’s, Marie-Therese has recorded her version of this ever-popular Christmas Carol.

Bee For Battens (The Saoirse Foundation) is the Irish Charity responsible for raising awareness of Batten’s Disease, a genetic condition of the nervous system, which leads to extensive neurological disability during childhood.

The charity was founded by Tony and Mary Heffernan, after their daughter Saoirse was diagnosed with Batten’s and they found there was nowhere in Ireland to turn for information and support on the condition. They are currently involved in the founding of Liam’s Lodge, a dedicated respite centre for children with rare neurological conditions.
