Phillip Schofield would quit This Morning if Holly Willoughby decided to stop presenting it.

The pair have been hosting the UK morning TV show together since 2009, with Phillip previously appearing on screen alongside Fern Britton. Although he’s worked with a number of people over his career, the star believes he has a special sort of on-screen chemistry with Holly.

“We know each other really well,” he told Britain’s OK! magazine. “I’d go as far as to say that if Holly said, ‘I don’t want to do it any more,’ then I would follow. I don’t think I would do it with anybody else full-time.”

The pair are renowned for their fun relationship, often having giggling fits live on TV. Last week (ends22Jan16) they won the best live magazine show gong at the National Television Awards, and celebrated with a wild night out – so wild that they appeared on This Morning in the outfits they wore to the ceremony after having no sleep.

Holly, 34, was just as glowing about her 53-year-old co-star, although she insists it’s always him who starts the laughter.

“We laugh together, we cry together – it’s just a brilliant partnership,” she smiled. “It’s wonderful, I’m very lucky.”

“I can say the smallest thing but this one (Phillip) has got the dirtiest mind and I just hear that laughter next to me and that’s it, it sets me off every time.”

She also touched on their award win, saying it was a great thing for everyone involved in the programme.

“We’re really excited,” she said. “It’s absolutely amazing and it’s brilliant for the team because they all work so hard throughout the year, so it’s just wonderful to have this.

“We love our viewers, every one of them is so special and once again they haven’t let us down!”

Holly opened up about her hangover cure too, revealing she relies on bacon sandwiches, macaroni cheese, white bread and “stodge” to help her feel better.
