Parnells storm ahead in the championship

Parnell’s 1-10
St Kiernan’s 0-06

By Sean Moriarty

Parnells have earmarked themselves as serious county championship contenders after a dominant second half over defeated 2013 semi-finalists St Kiernan’s at Ruislip on Sunday.

The men in blue and yellow, are far hungrier, fitter, sleeker and more crucially, clinical than we have seen them in recent years.

They are obviously benefitting from coaching and sideline advice from former Kerry inter-county player Anthony Gleeson who has been involved with the club in recent months.

They totally dominated the second half, to such an extent; they kept their north London rivals scoreless for 25 minutes of the second half.
