Parnells in the driving seat

Parnell’s  1-12
Kingdom Kerry Gaels 1-08

by Sean Moriarty

Parnell’s have become serious contenders for the London County Championship after their effective dismissal of reigning county champions, the Kingdom Kerry Gaels on Sunday.

This was the Northwick Park club’s second major win of the season, after  beating  last year’s semi-finalists St Kiernan’s two weeks ago.

They really are the team of the season so far and it will be a major surprise if they are not in the county final judging by their current form.

That is not to say Sunday’s win was anything but easy. Yes, they were control for much of the first half, thanks to a Seamus Stenson goal.  They survived a second half rally by the current champions – a Ronan O’Boyle goal helping the Kingdom’s cause and reduced the gap to just two points.
