One Direction star Niall Horan is getting a museum in his honour in his home town. The 20 year old from Mullingar apparently gets so many fans turning up at his childhood home that the local council wants to set up a site fans can visit.
Local councillor Aidan Davitt said: “Of course we want to honour one of our leading lights. Niall is always promoting Mullingar around the world and has said it’s something he would support, as did his mother Maura.”
Desperate to see where their heartthrob grew up, fans arrive at Niall’s former home every day of the week, added the councillor, even heading to the local supermarket to see if they can scout out family members.
Though the singer will be the focus of the museum, which it is hoped will be open next summer, it will also serve to promote Mulligar as a destination.
Niall, meanwhile, got caught up in the general hysteria that surrounds One Direction upon arriving at LA airport recently, when an over-excited paparazzo accidentally knocked him to the floor. He later tweeted: ‘I hate the paps! Just got dragged to the floor by some idiot with a camera! could have seen the fans as well, but they messed it all up!’
