Lorcan Mulvey is a major doubt to face Tipperary at Ruislip on Sunday after suffering a groin injury in London’s 2-14 to 1-8 Allianz FL Division 4 defeat to Clare.
The London captain and All Star nominee pulled up just five minutes into the second half and was due to be assessed at London’s training session on Tuesday night (February 25), but it seems highly unlikely he’ll feature.
To compound matters, London manager Paul Coggins was unable to call upon Damien Dunleavy on the bench, after the former Galway senior player injured a quad muscle with the last ball he kicked in the warm up.
“He’d [Lorcan Mulvey] be very doubtful for this weekend – he’s been unlucky with injuries,” said Coggins on Monday. “Obviously Lorcan is a key player, he’s the captain of the side and an All Star nomination.
“The guy really wanted to perform and we were looking forward to a big second half from him, with the aid of the breeze. We had a game plan where he would have been involved, and it was a big hit to take. We’ll take our time with him and make sure he’s 100 per cent.
“But these things happen. We’ve other guys in there who’ll have to come in and put down a marker. There’s plenty of good forwards in the squad.”
