Police officers are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Harrow that left a man in his 80s in a serious condition in hospital with a head injury.

Police were called at approximately 5:05 pm yesterday to Eastcote Lane, at the junction with Brookside Close, following reports of a black Ford Focus in collision with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, believed to be in his late 80s, was taken to a central London hospital suffering from a head injury. His condition is serious at this time.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the collision to come forward, in particular a number of people who are thought to have got off a nearby Route 114 double-decker bus.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Alperton witness line on 020 8991 9555.

The male driver of the Ford stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of drink drive.  He has been released on police bail to mid February 2015.
