Man charged with murdering Irish woman near Emirates

POLICE have charged a man with the murder an Irish woman who was shot in London over the weekend.

Leeann Foley died in Holloway on Saturday November 1 after suffering fatal gunshot wounds at an address 400m from Arsenal’s home stadium.

On Sunday November 2 Richard Conroy, of Loraine Road, was charged with her murder.

The 38-year-old is believed to have known Ms Foley, who hails from Co. Cork.

Ms Foley, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of police officers. Conroy appeared before Highbury Magistrates Court this afternoon.
