London-Wexford Association celebrates Diamond Jubilee

THE London-Wexford Association is marking its Diamond Jubliee year with a dinner dance at The Crown Moran Hotel in Cricklewood.

The dinner dance will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 8pm, and among the confirmed guests are the Bishop of Ferns Rev Denis Brennan, Ireland and QPR Soccer player Kevin Doyle from Adamstown, County Wexford. Music on the night will be by Wexford group The Davitt Country Band.

The London-Wexford Association was founded in 1954, its first committee meeting with Chairman Tommy Quirk from Barntown held at The Red Lion Public House on Kilburn High Road.

A founding member present at this first meeting, Tommy Ryan from Galbally, Curracloe is well known in GAA circles and was previously a very active member of The Fr Murphy Hurling Club in London. He now resides in Wexford.

Tickets for the April 26 dinner dance are £45. The Crown Moran Hotel is offering a special accommodation rate on the night – call 0208 452 4175 making sure to quote London Wexford Association Dinner.

In the Association’s sixty years in existence it has gone from strength to strength, becoming one of the most active county associations in London. New members are always welcome.
