London-Irish Katy’s number one album

THE redhead got to number 2 with her first release, but now Katy B’s second album has finally taken her to the number one spot in the UK album charts.

The Brit school graduate, 24, real name Kathleen Brien, released her debut album Katy B On A Mission in 2011, where it peaked at number two.

But now Katy B has landed her first number one album after Little Red beat competition from Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon, at number two, and London Grammar, who climbed one place to number three.

The album features song-writing from Robbie Williams collaborator Guy Chambers and Fraser T Smith.

In its five star review of the album, the Telegraph said: “Her magic trick is to sound like a Saturday night every girl and magnify those emotions into an almost spiritual, party-wide transcendence, like a street wise, 21st century answer to Agnetha Faltskog”.
