Irish film star Liam Neeson has come top of a recent survey for celebrities that garner the most commerical gains for companies looking to endorse their products.
He and fellow Irish action hero Pierce Brosnan actually topped the list with the same score, but the Taken star just pipped the former 007 to the No. 1 spot as he is judged to have a greater influence in getting products sold.
The Nielsen company, who provide insights & data about what people watch, listen to & buy, studied advertising campaigns that were actioned during the first three months of this year.
They looked at each celebrity’s power and ranked them with a score that factors likeability, public awareness, influence among other elements.
Neeson and Pierce Brosnan had identical scores of 94 and where closely followed by Matthew McConaughey.
The company found that Antrim native Neeson is viewed positively by 85 per cent of Americans who know him, after featuring in an ad for Supercell Games.
Brosnan and McConaughey also scored well in the ratings after featuring in car adverts between January and March.
Nielsen intends to offer advertising executives information about the personalities and habits of people who respond well to each celebrity so they can better match the face of a campaign and the advertised products to their target audience.
‘What do they buy? Where do they shop? What do they watch?’ said managing director of media analytics Chad Dreas.
