Kilburn continue winning streak

Kilburn Gaels 2-15
Sean Treacys 1-12

by Damian Dolan

Kilburn Gaels made it win number four in this year’s senior championship at Ruislip on Friday evening, despite playing the last 12 minutes with just 14 men.

In a game which saw referee Mattie Maher brandish one red card and nine of the yellow variety, Kilburn led by four when Dwyer picked up his second booking of this intriguing tussle.

The margin had been seven points at one stage in the second half, but Treacys were building some momentum when Dwyer saw red, and his departure offered the south Londoners a huge opportunity to secure a third win of this year’s campaign.

Kilburn, though, were far too savvy and Treacys were never able to make the most of their numerical advantage. The final margin of victory is testament to that.
