Kiernans’ U10s’ trip to Mayo

St Kiernans’ under 10’s teams have been congratulated by the London Youth board after a successful blitz in Mayo over the Easter holidays.

Both boys and girls travelled to Breaffy House Hotel, and won three games against local sides Bellmullet, Ballyhaunis and Lahardaum, only losing to a strong Ballycroy team.

The players had the opportunity of a training session with Eoin Sweeney and Eugene Lavin before meeting current Mayo stars Aidan O’Shea and Rob Hennelly.

The pair attended the blitz and were keen to pass on advice to the young players. Parents and players attended an awards dinner afterwards, before the travelling group went to watch the Mayo senior team, including O’Shea and Hennelly, take on Down at McHale Park.

Meanwhile, the senior team will travel to Ireland this weekend. As part of Longford’s Centenary Commeration 1916 their senior team will take on the north London team in an exhibition match at Pearse Park on Sunday at 1pm.
