Kelly Brook has reportedly been axed from Countrywise

The 36-year-old former The Big Breakfast host is said to have been signed up by ITV bosses to appear in a feature which would see her discuss issues relating to the countryside.

It had been hoped that she would help bring publicity to the series, ITV’s version of hit BBC series Countryfile, and boost ratings.

Kelly was due to feature alongside other famous faces including Martin Kemp, Ian Botham and Zoe Ball, but her segment has already been dropped, according to The Sun newspaper.

“Countrywise wanted to inject some fresh blood into the show by including some high-profile guests and Kelly was one they had in mind,” a source told the publication.

“But viewers won’t be seeing Kelly in her wellies anytime soon as the idea has now been canned and she’s been replaced. They’d hoped she would inject some much-needed glamour into the show to take on Countryfile in the ratings.”

An ITV spokesperson didn’t directly comment on the claims when contacted by The Sun, saying only: “We plan to feature a range of people across the course of the series who will offer their own unique and authentic perspective on their love for the countryside.”

Kelly has something of a poor track record when it comes to her small screen ventures. As well as being dropped from The Big Breakfast, the stunning brunette also had a failed stint as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, while her U.S. TV sitcom One Big Happy was axed after just six episodes.

She is well aware of the impact her involvement has on television shows, however, saying during an interview on Good Morning Britain last week: “I was out in Los Angeles doing a show called One Big Happy… it was fantastic I loved it, but it got cancelled as these things do, everything kind of comes to an end with me!”
