Johanna Ho has designed a 26-piece capsule collection for Puma
Hong Kong-based fashion designer Johanna launched her namesake label in 1998, just a year after she graduated from London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins with a Masters degree in fashion. She’s gone on to become a favourite for stars including Rosamund Pike and Gwyneth Paltrow, but is now trading in her more refined looks for a sportier offering.
The collection, Johanna Ho Empowered by Puma, will be exclusively sold at T Galleria by DFS at the City of Dreams casino and resort in Macau.
“I remember wearing my first pair of Puma Suedes while I was a student and so this collection is not only about designing clothes but it’s also about a lifestyle, an attitude,” Johanna said, according to WWD.
For the line, Joanna chose to upcycle vintage Puma tracksuits by including pieces of the garments in new limited-edition tracksuits, T-shirts and footwear.
“I have always strived to be a sustainable fashion designer, and now through upcycling Puma classic T7 track suits, an iconic Puma design, I can give a new life and edge to these classic designs,” she smiled.
Prices start at 2,300 Macau Pataca ($282.13/£213), and go up to 12,000 Macau Pataca ($1,472/ £114).
Joanna has been sharing snaps of the collection on her Instagram account, uploading pictures of her mood boards and her working on some of the pieces.
“Working on my limited edition #PUMAEmpowered collection. Coming soon to #TGalleriabyDFS City of Dreams! @dfsofficial @puma_hk #pumahk#love #life #passion #sustainable#sustainability #fashion,” she captioned one snap.
On another she wrote: “and thanks@puma_hk for realizing my childhood dream of being a sustainable designer. 3 more days till my #PUMAEmpoweredcollection launches exclusively at#TGalleriabyDFS City of Dreams!”
