AN Irish tourist staying at a Magaluf hotel has survived a fall from the third floor because of a tree.

The 20 year old, who was staying at the TRH hotel in Calle Marti Ros Garcia, was saved when the tree broke his fall.

He suffered severe head trauma from the incident but somewhat miraculously is not in a critical condition, according to a source.

Apartments at the TRH Magaluf, which is close to Magaluf Beach, include their own private balcony or terrace.

Last summer British tourist Thomas Ousby, 19, died after a balcony fall in Magaluf, notorious for its party nightlife and reputation for over-indulging tourists.

In 2012, four Britons died in balcony falls in Magaluf, prompting the Foreign Office to publish its Booze and Balconies Don’t Mix brochure.
