The Centre for Irish Studies http://www.smuc.ac.uk/irish-studies (CIS) at St Mary’s University, Twickenham is to welcome guest speaker Neil Cobbett as part of the MA Irish Studies presentation at the Postgraduate Open Evening on Wednesday April 30.
Neil is a Reader Adviser in Modern Irish Records at the National Archives, will present The Struggle for Irish Independence – Sources at the National Archives, Kew.
He will discuss British Government Irish Conferences, Dublin Castle papers, Royal Irish Constabulary records, 1912-14 Home Rule Bill records, Irish recruitment to British Army and more sources; all of which are available to access at the National Archives in Kew just a few miles away from the University, meaning that students are able to take advantage of the resources on offer.
Neil’s talk forms part of St Mary’s Postgraduate Open Evening http://www.smuc.ac.uk/postgraduate-courses-london/openevening.htm , where anyone considering postgraduate study will be able to find out more about the MA Irish Studies and speak to academics on the course.
