Ireland’s hottest new fashion label comes to Britain

IRISH fashion empire Lennon Courtney was only launched in February, but is set to be available in UK shops by the end of the year.

A joint venture by stylists-turned-designers Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney, their line has taken the fashion world by storm, and has been picked up in Britain by both Harvey Nicholls and John Lewis. Online sales from the UK have been growing steadily.

Former Clothes Show presenter and one half of the Dublin design duo, Brendan Courtney said: “We’re very excited. Harvey Nicholls have just placed an order for pre-Spring 2014 in Dublin and online for pre-Spring and hopefully we’ll be in Bristol and London for the next season.

“We have taken on a UK PR and fashion agent and the response has been incredible. We’ll not be making a penny on the UK side of things for three years, but that’s how it goes when you take on a new project like this!”

High street favourite John Lewis will open a pop-up shop on London’s Oxford Street next May, with both designers present to make sure the venture runs smoothly. The plan is to expand the brand in the UK, before moving into the American and Australian markets.
