Hurricane’s best shots on fourth anniversary of his death

Two-time world champion Alex ‘Hurricane’ Higgins, nicknamed so because his fast play, lost his long-fight with ill-health four years ago today.

The Belfast player was hugely popular on the circuit and along with Jimmy White was said to be responsible for contributing to the sport’s popularity in the 1980s.

He fared well in team play too, winning the World Doubles with Jimmy White in 1984 and winning the World Cup three times with an All Ireland team.
