Heston Gaels 3-07, John Mitchels 1-12
By Patrick Keane.
The Heston Gaels pulled off a slim victory on their travels against a well prepared and talented John Mitchels side on Sunday.
Played at the Pairc na hEireann in Birmingham surrounded by some drastic wet and windy weather, the London Intermediate winners played out a strategic game of lay and pray tactics to edge out the Warwickshire senior champions.
When the game commenced, it looked clear that the Mitchels side were in no mood for a feeling out process, as they charged up the field on two separate occasions and sunk two well taken points, courtesy of James Loney and Ronan Henry.
But in true spirited fashion, the Gaels showed the same fluent style of play, confidence and belief, which brought intermediate success.
