Harlesden Harps 4-08, St Anthonys 2-08
By Damian Dolan.
One side is contemplating a county final, the other a championship relegation play-off, but it was difficult to tell which was which at Ruislip on Saturday evening.
Despite just one win from their seven previous championship and league outings going into this Division 2 clash, Harlesden Harps showed few signs of lacking in confidence as they prepare to face St Clarets for the right to play Intermediate football next year.
St Anthonys, meanwhile, are hell bent on joining London’s second tier, and after seeing off Thomas McCurtains in the Junior Championship semi-final this defeat may well serve to sharpen minds ahead of next weekend’s final against Tir Chonaill Gaels.
The Reading side will need to find their shooting boots before then – they racked up 14 wides on Saturday – while they looked vulnerable at the back and will sweat on Noel Burke being fit to line out next Sunday. John Reilly and Aidan McCann also picked up knocks against the Harps.
