German tourist missing in Omagh

By Madeline O’Connor

THE PSNI say they are increasingly worried about the welfare of a missing German tourist in the Gortin area of Omagh

Thought to be in her 60s, the woman was believed to be making her way to a campsite.

She was last seen in Gorton last Thursday, having arrived at the local community centre and telling staff she was going to the Dunamore area to camp overnight.

She was supposed to go back to the community centre in Gortin on Friday, but failed to turn up.

She is described as being between 65 and 70 years old with shoulder length white hair, a fringe and of slim build. She was carrying with her a backpack and a plastic bag.

The missing woman may have been in the Dunnamore and Draperstown areas on the morning of Friday, August 1.

Police would like anyone with information to contact them at Omagh on the non emergency number 101.
