Businesses and consumers in a Galway village have joined together to support the growing boycott of Israeli produce.
The idea came from a number of conversations among the residents of Kinvara, a small sea port village in the south of the county, about what they could do to help the people of Gaza.
The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign say that it is the first time they are aware of a whole village taking united action such as this.
The people then made a subsequent request to the owners of local businesses to support the boycott.
John Griffin told the Clare Champion: “Like most people, we were sickened by the carnage we were seeing on our screens and felt helpless to do anything.
“The fact that we’ve had such a positive response sends out a strong message of solidarity.”
