Performance all important again

By Damian Dolan

Performance will once again be the name of the game for London against Carlow on Saturday, says London captain Seamus Hannon.

The Exiles face Anthony Rainbow’s side on Saturday at Dr Cullen Park having had an extra week to reflect on their opening round 1 defeat to Division 4 favourites Offaly at Ruislip – an indulgence they can thank Ireland’s Six Nations clash with England for.

Against Offaly, Paul Coggins’ side were left to rue a second half collapse having led at the break – the Exiles’ lack of match practice coming to the fore against an Offaly side that went into the game with four O’Byrne Cup games under their belt.

“Performance comes first and then the result will follow – we’re not going to set ourselves targets,” said Hannon. “We were quite happy with the first 35 minutes – we felt it went quite well. We were organised, the work-rate was high and we had good intensity from the word go.
