Fulham Irish book a semi slot

Fulham Irish 1-12
Neasden Gaels 1-8

Senior Football Championship

Fulham Irish advance to the semi-final stages of the county championship after defeating Neasden Gaels on Sunday.

Fulham dominated the closing stages of the first half but their superiority was not reflected on the scoreboard as Padraig Poland missed two goal chances.

Fulham picked up where they left off at the start of the second half, with Poland and Michael Murphy scoring points.

But just as Fulham threatened to pull away, Neasden’s sub  Ciaran Singleton goaled.

Neasden midfielder Frank McMullin was shown a red card in the 45th minute after an off-the-ball incident and added to the fact that former county player  Damien Dunleavy left the pitch with a dislocated finger meant the north London side were always up against it.

The sending off didn’t hurt Neasden straight away as they responded to another Poland point with three of their own.
