A Father Ted-themed scavenger hunt is to take place in Dublin in aid of a woman suffering from Lyme disease.
Denise Ryan, 31, from Rathfarnham, contracted an aggressive form of the disease from tick bites when she lived in Canada.
She needs to travel to the United States for life-saving treatment and hopes to raise the €100,000 which will enable her to spend a year at a clinic in Seattle.
Participants will gain extra points if they take part wearing Father Ted-themed costumes.
Prizes on the hunt include an Electric Picnic weekend camping ticket or two Life Festival weekend camping tickets.
Tickets for the hunt are €10 pp and can be purchased from www.1events.ie

Denise’s message on her GoFundMe site is as follows:
A huge thank you to my good friend for making this video, which was shown today for the first time.
I was so nervous to be filmed and for people to see it, I’ve become so hidden away as my illness has gotten worse and worse. But I have just 8 weeks left to raise €70,000, so I have to punch above my weight and do whatever I can and whatever it takes.
So here is my story. I’d be forever grateful if you could donate and share with your friends that you are trying to help and are part of my fight. Every donation is a tremendous help towards reaching the €100,000 end goal. You are giving me the gift of life. All funds raised go towards my urgent medical treatment.
I’ll continue to fight this disease for as long as I can but the truth is I’m rapidly running out of time. It’s really daunting but I remind myself of this quote –
“Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”
– and I keep going.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for your support!
