THE family of a Laois man living in Ealing, West London who they believe has disappeared have urged him – or anyone who knows him – to contact them.
The last time John Delaney’s Irish relatives saw him was in February of this year. In August, they called him to arrange another meet-up, but say his phone resulted as out of order, and they have no other contact number for him.
John’s brother Joe Delaney travelled over recently from Portlaoise to see if he could find him and, with no success, has reported the 57 year old missing.
He told the Irish World: “We just don’t know what happened to John… we’re extremely worried something has happened to him. We’d normally come over to see him maybe twice a year, ring him when we got there and organise to meet somewhere central like Oxford Street.
“He’d always answer and we would always meet up, so the fact that his mobile never answered and he never got back to us at all is very out of character.”
Described by his brother as a private man that “keeps himself to himself” John, who has lived in London for the last 28 years, never introduced his family to anyone he worked or lived with.
He was employed at Cadburys and then at a wine distribution company and in the last year moved to a soft drinks fruit juice distribution company, is said to be interested in sports and played football in the local area.
His family believes John is in the Ealing/Perivale area and would just like him to call them and let them know he is ok. They have released a poster in the hope that someone may recognise him.
