EVENT: Q&A with Tory MP about his Dublin statesman’s book

book cover

Here is something to whet the appetite of the Conservative Historian…

Catch John Paul O Malley as he interviews Conservative MP, Jesse Norman, on Wed Feb 11 at 8.00 in Boogaloo, 312 Archway Road, Highgate London N6 5AT about his book: Edmund Burke, Philosopher, Politician, Prophet.

In the book, Norman argues that Burke is both the most underrated and greatest political thinker of the last past 300 years. That Burke was a Philosopher-statesman of the first rank, a life long campaigner against the arbitrary power of injustice, and a fierce champion of fundamental rights.

Burke, argues Norman, has been reduced to clutch of cliches and soundbites, but this book makes the case that we cannot understand the modern world, modern politics, or what we may now call liberal individualism, without referencing the Dublin philosopher and politician.
