Spellbinding theatre at Baron's Court

By staff reporter
London seems to be the place to be for quality Irish plays at the minute, and we have another one for you!
A new production of Conor McPherson’s supernatural offering The Weir will be showing at London’s Baron’s Court Theatre from 13th to 18th March.
CP Theatre continue their popular Goths, Ghosts and Ghouls Season at Barons Court with the play, which was first seen to great acclaim in London at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in 1997, for which Conor McPherson won the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright in the same year.
A bittersweet exploration of relationships and missed opportunities, set in a bar in rural Ireland, barman Brendan and three of his regulars try to spook newcomer Valerie - recently arrived to live in the village from Dublin - with ghostly tales, only to be frightened themselves when she tells her own story.
The Weir is a funny, poignant powerful play by one ofIreland’s leading modern playwright, and it’s sure to prove popular, too - so book early, and prepare to be a little spooked out!
Performances are at 7.30pmTuesdays to Sundays, admission £12-£8 (or you can avail of their Thrifty Thursday 15 March offer: 2 tickets for 1). Call Box Office on 020 8932 4747 to book. Check out www.cp-theatre.org.uk for more on the company.
