RTÉ Television has launched MasterChef Ireland 2012, and is inviting amateur cooks to take part in the new series.
Once again, successful applicants will be doing their best to impress Michelin-starred chef Dylan McGrath and top restaurateur Nick Munier and the last 16 contestants chosen by the pair will go head to head for the €25,000 prize that comes with the title.
Judge McGrath said: "We want to findIreland's best amateur cook and we want to hear from everyone inIrelandwho thinks they have what it takes to be the next MasterChef champion.
"MasterChefIrelandis such a great opportunity to show off the talent that exists inIrelandat an amateur level, and to showcase the Irish produce that we have. Although we have a small population, I'm absolutely confident that we can compete at an international level."
Munier added: "I'm hoping to see exceptional cooks that operate by instinct and have a natural flair for taste and flavour. This could be a life-changing opportunity for the winner and I want to find someone with the determination and drive to succeed, regardless of their background."
The closing date for applications is May 28, and more details on applying and terms and conditions are available at: www.rte.ie/masterchef.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh has slammed the BBC version of The Voice.
The X Factor’s longest-serving judge is not being behind the door about his feelings on the rival reality singing competition.
The pop moghul told Heat magazine: "I hate The Voice. I think everyone thought The Voice UK would be like the US version, and it's not."
"It's dull and boring. I'm glad BGT is winning the ratings battle - it's much better
Asked if he would ever be a coach on the show, he replied: "No way, it's not great TV. It's like Fame Academy all those years ago."
"The best thing about it are the revolving chairs, and once you've seen that, the novelty wears off."
And it would seem Walsh is no fan of will.i.am, one of The Voice coaches, labelling him "ridiculous". He said: "What's that man's real name anyway? It's not will.i.am, is it? He thinks he's got all the answers, but if he didn't have Fergie in the band, where would he be?"
He added: "Fergie is the real star. I would love her on the X Factor, and to be a judge on the show. The X Factor is the biggest show on TV and the other shows are just copying us with their silly chairs. Simon Cowell is the king of TV and if he's not involved then it's not good."

Peaches Geldof has spoken about how scared she was after her newborn son was taken into intensive care moments after he was born.
Peaches, 23, said it was discovered straight after his birth that Astala – who was born weighing 3.2kg (7lb) – was having breathing difficulties.
“I was yearning for that skin-to-skin contact and to not be able to hold him and nurse him and comfort him was so upsetting”, the new mum told Hello! magazine.
The moment of panic happened just after fiancée Thomas Cohen, 20, cut the baby’s umbilical cord after he was delivered by Caesarean section last month. Astala has since made a full recovery.
“It was the most terrifying experience but to finally hold him and take in all his features was wonderful”, she added.
Dad Bob Geldof, 60, confessed last week that he was finding it hard to pronounce his new grandson’s unusual name.
