Taoiseach Enda Kenny has sent a Christmas message to Irish people at home and abroad, acknowledging the need to create new jobs to reunite families over the festive period.
“I know many of you will be catching up with sons, daughters, brothers and sisters through Facebook and Skype,” he says.
“I want you to know that we are working day and night to strengthen our country’s recovery and create the jobs that will allow them to come home.
“Because for families at Christmas, Facetime good as it is is no substitute with face to face.
He mentions the shortest day of the year that is coming and that with more light in the coming months will hopefully reflect with a brighter future for the Irish economy.
“May that new light bring new propserity and new hope to our country,” he adds.
