Edel shows true Colour

Edel Morrissey with her prize-winning picture

Ten-year-old Edel Morrissey from Cooraclare, Clare received first place in the Credit Union’s Munster school art competition, Gotta Lotta Colour. Edel was presented with a cash prize at a ceremony in Limerick on Saturday December 7 for emerging triumphant in the special needs category for her 8-10 age group. Edel has spina bifida.

Edel is the daughter of Joe and Teresa Morrissey (nee Hennessy) who both lived in London for many years, mainly Neasden and Wembley. Edel’s uncle and auntie Martin and Maria Morrissey both played football with Parnells in London and her uncle Tom Morrissey won the Munster championship with Clare in 1992.

Edel  now progresses to the All-Ireland competition to be held in Dublin in February.
