Dynamo: 'I’ve got some crazy ideas for future TV shows!'

Dynamo stopped doing television magic because he felt it had become “over saturated”, but now has some “crazy ideas” for a return to the small screen.

The British magician, real name Steven Frayne, first found fame as a street magician before wowing fans with his incredible illusions on Dynamo: Magician Impossible.

The series came to an end in 2014, but Dynamo, who is currently in the middle of a sell-out live tour, admits he is already planning his television comeback in typically spectacular style.

“At the time I stopped doing television magic because I thought it had become a bit over saturated – there were lots of people doing similar things – so that’s why I came up with the idea of the whole live tour,” Dynamo exclusively told Cover Media. “But while I’ve been on this tour, I’ve had loads of crazy ideas I want to do for shows. I’ve got quite a few things in the pipeline.”

While he wasn’t initially comfortable with the fame side of his job, Dynamo has slowly become used to the idea of being a celebrity and now has nearly 600,000 followers on Instagram.

The 33-year-old can’t compete with the likes of Kim Kardashian and her selfies though, instead choosing to combine his magical skills with the features of the new Samsung Galaxy S7 phone to create some truly unbelievable shots.

“I don’t have Kim’s curves – I’ve got dashing good looks, love and charm but it doesn’t always translate to a photograph!” he laughed. “I’m actually always trying to think of new things. If you look at my Instagram, I always try to create to interesting shots. They’re not necessarily always selfies – I’m always trying to think of ways of using my skills to create magic in still form.

“With the Samsung Galaxy S7 you can create some really interesting optical illusions because of the functions on the phone which allow you to do things you couldn’t do on a digital SLR camera. Combine that with my magical skills and you can literally create the impossible.”

These impossible ‘Everyday Illusions’ include Dynamo using a London bus as a roller skate, climbing out of a wall of water and flying with an umbrella just like Mary Poppins.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 hits shelves on Friday (11Mar16).
