A Dublin paper has decided to tackle the No campaign ‘propaganda’ in light of May’s marriage equality referendum in Ireland, by shredding up the material and recycling them as confetti.
Daintree Paper have launched a campaign called ‘A Shred of Decency’ which makes heart shaped confetti out of negative and misleading material and are selling them for €5, with all proceeds going towards the Yes Equality campaign.
The company have issued the following advert for its campaign:
At specialised website, shredofdecency.ie, they say:
At Daintree, paper is our favourite thing in the whole world. So when paper was used to spread some ugly lies in the run up to the marriage equality referendum we weren’t one bit happy. So we put our heads together and came up with a new product called ‘A Shred of decency’ – it’s confetti made from 100% recycled lies.
They are also asking fellow campaigners and customers to send them offensive pamphlets they have received, or even to send them Tweets which they will then print off and transform into marriage-equality-friendly confetti.
