Let’s face it – there are a lot of beauty products out there, A LOT. And while items that target one specific area are helpful, it’s also frustrating when they all start to form a pile of rarely used products in your bathroom.

One way to cut down on unnecessary products (and save money too) is to buy things that can be used multiple ways. So clear the clutter with our top double duty heroes.

Lipstick is often an impulse buy, and next thing you know you have 10 different shades of red that all look pretty much the same. However, one of those lipstick tubes can magically turn into a concealer if used correctly.

If you have fair skin, grab a coral tint or for darker skin, get your hands on orange lipstick to cover up the dark circles underneath your eyes.

It’s also important to use matte lipstick, which will hide the blemishes, as opposed to highlighting them. Once you dab some lipstick on, blend it into your skin and then place your regular foundation over it to cover up the darkness, as you would with regular concealer.

One item you wouldn’t expect to be used as a multi-use beauty product is anti-chafing cream or gel. While it’s normally applied as a lubricant to keep skin from rubbing, it can also be used as a make-up primer for your face.

The key ingredient in chafing cream is dimethicone, a silicone-based polymer that is the same ingredient found in many primers. Use the anti-chafing cream just as you would regular primer for the same effect at a fraction of the cost.

Another double duty product is eyeshadow, which can be used as highlighter. Highlighter is basically just a large eyeshadow that you pay premium price for. Why not use the eyeshadow you already own?

Using a shimmery shade will create the same effect as highlighter, when brushed on your cheekbones, under your eyebrows and along the bridge of your nose.

Also using a thin make-up brush, apply shimmer eyeshadow just above your top lip to make your pout look fuller.
