Pete Doherty has said he and his Libertines co-frontman Carl Barat are as close as eve after they reunited this month.
Speaking to NME, the Can’t Stand Me Now singer said: “We’re a unit now. And Carl’s my brother. There was a time when I’d have died for him, and that turned into a time when I wanted to kill him. But now I’m ready to die for him again.”
The Libertines got back together earlier in the month for a huge show in London’s Hyde Park last Saturday, in front of a 600,000-strong crowd, as part of British Summertime concerts, after splitting up in 2004 and reforming briefly in 2010 for the Reading and Leeds festival s.
They have since announced they will play be three gigs at London’s Alexandra Palace in September, followed by European dates.
