David Hasselhoff attracts huge Dublin crowd

Petrol-heads gather in Dublin for more than just 120 exotic cars.

Baywatch and Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff had fans lining the streets of Dublin at the weekend, as he arrived in the city for the start of the Gumball 3000 rally.

Thousands of motor fans lined the streets to marvel over the luxurious cars that take place on the 3,000 mile race across Europe, which included Lamborghinis, Porsches and Bentleys.

The fleet of cars at the first leg of the rally were estimated to have cost in excess of £62 million.

The Gumball 3000 is an annual British 3,000- mile international celebrity motor rally which takes place on public roads.

It was started in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper, with the idea to combine cars, music, fashion and entertainment.

Inspired by the 70s film of the same name, drivers from over 30 countries will race across Europe before finishing in Bucharest this Friday, before a closing party in the city on Saturday.
