A well-known figure from the London-Irish music scene is struggling with bad health.
Harry Dusky has been very well known on the Irish and country music circuit for over 50 years, having played drums with the Dusky family before going on to become a very well known agent for a lot of bands in London. He also arranged UK tours for Irish-based bands.
Sadly, Harry’s health has not been good for many years due to smoking and he has a chest condition COPD. In July, Harry suffered sudden chronic back pain and when taken into hospital, Harry and his family found out that the pain in his back was secondary cancer which had spread from his lungs to his spine and bones. There is no cure and the family have been told to take each week as a bonus.
Harry was very busy as an agent in the booming 70s and 80s for bands including Margaret and the Redwood. When the scene declined, Harry stepped away from it about ten to fifteen years ago.
Harry would love to hear from anyone who remembers him, especially members of his bands as Harry lost contact with most of the people he worked with.
Harry made four wishes, he wanted to walk his daughter Deborah down the aisle, see his wife Rose’s birthday on August 15, enjoy their 45th wedding anniversary on August 23 and his last wish is to see his 80th birthday on May 26 next year which will be a challenge.
Harry did get to walk Deborah down the aisle on August 2 and many close friends and family were there to see it, even though the wedding was organised in six days.
Harry would like to see people that he worked with over the years.
All contact is via his daughter Deborah, via email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 07736 904 679.
