Daniel Radcliffe will be bringing his acclaimed turn as an Irish disabled dreamer to Broadway, it has been revealed.

The Kill Your Darlings actor will join the rest of the cast in New York for Tony Award-winner Michael Grandage’s production of The Cripple of Inishmaan.

Martin McDonagh’s revived tragicomedy, set on the Aran Islands in the 1930s, tells the story is of a young man with hopes of making it as a movie star when a Hollywood film is shooting nearby.

Previews begin April 12 at New York’s Cort Theatre with an opening scheduled for April 20.

Radcliffe made his stage debut in the West End in 2007, following it up with his Broadway debut the next year for Equus. He was back on Broadway in 2011 for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

The Harry Potter star took the lead in the West End run of The Cripple of Inishmaan last year.
