County hurling championship reaches crucial stages

by Sean Moriarty

The Ardent Tide London Senior Hurling Championship preliminary rounds are now complete.

The top two teams, the unbeaten and erstwhile favourites Kilburn Gaels and last year’s defeated finalists Brother Pearses have secured semi-final spots and these games will be played the weekend on August 9 and 10.

The bottom four will play a quarter final on the weekend on July 26/27 with last year’s champions, St Gabriels facing relegation battlers Father Murphys and third placed Sean Tracey’s drawn against Robert Emmetts.

Going on current form it seem likely that Gabriels will make to the semi-finals but the Sean Treacys and Robert Emmetts game is harder to call. When they met in early June the former emerged as four point victors.
Kilburn and Brother Pearses remain on target for the final.
