Derry musician Phil Coulter looked every inch the proud father last Friday as he escorted his daughter Dominique up the aisle to wed fellow musician Paul Byrom, an Irish World Award winner.

Dominique, 26, of Bray, County Wicklow kept to tradition on Friday by arriving at The Church of the Assumption in Booterstown, south Dublin eight minutes late.

The blonde business and law graduate was wearing a flowing, classic white wedding dress and held a bouquet of pink and white roses. Mr Coulter said of his daughter: “I think she looks like a movie star. I’m very proud.”

Byrom, from Blackrock, south Dublin, was waiting for his bride at the altar. Leaving the church where he sang as a child soprano after the ceremony, the 34 year old tenor said it was “without question” the best day of his life so far.

Among the 150 family and friends at the Mass were Mr Byrom’s close friends, Irish rugby star Gordon D’Arcy and his model wife Aoife Cogan, Rosanna Davison and Glee actor Damien McGinty.

The newlyweds, who are based in New York, hosted a two-day reception at Rallsallagh House in Co Wicklow before heading off for their honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.

Byrom, who also performed live at the Irish World awards in 2007, has been hailed as one of the great Irish tenors of his generation and has performed across the world as a solo artist, and with his group Celtic Thunder.

He serenaded US President Barack Obama and his family at the White House on St Patrick’s Day in 2009 and his recent album This Is The Moment went to number one in the World Billboard charts.
